Tree Planting Trip

On Friday 23rd November children from St Anne’s school were invited to take part in a tree planting event in King George’s Park as part of National Tree Planting Week.

In order to win a place on the trip children had to complete a tree quiz. Two winners were selected from each class.

The winners were:

Olive: Harry and Milena

Willow: Ethan and Chloe

Maple: Cassie and Declan

Palm: Wirda and Daisuke

Elm: Ronika and JoJo

The winning children went down to King George’s Park on Friday morning with Mrs. Steward. The children helped to plant two trees in the park.

Next time you’re in King George’s Park look out for St Anne’s trees!

Well done to all the children who took part in the tree quiz! There were some amazing entries!

Reading in Olive Class

Olive Class have been busy readers this term. We love sharing books with our Buddy Readers from Palm Class on a Friday afternoon and we really enjoyed visiting the school library to choose our own book to share with a friend.

National Outdoor Learning Day!

To celebrate National Outdoor Learning Day 2018 Year 1 took their science lesson outside to carry out a leaf hunt. We found lots of different leaves and used our tree identifying chart to find out which tree the leaf came from. We found Pine leaves, Cheery tree leaves, Horse Chestnut leaves and Sycamore leaves.

Hindu visitor

Year 1 were so lucky today to have a guest speaker come into the classroom to teach us all about Hinduism; our RE topic this half term. Nahbi was very impressed with Year one’s subject knowledge and thought their questions were very thought provoking!

He showed us a Puja tray, played a conch shell and did some relaxing meditation.

Super salads

Well done to year 1 for making delicious salads this week. They wrote their shopping lists, drew a design and learnt how to use a knife safely when cutting. Take a look at their hard work!
