As a treat for the final week of term, Miss Steward put on a fantastic story time based on the story of Snow White for the whole school. We all enjoyed getting involved, acting the story out and seeing the amazing scene that had been created!
Last week all year groups took part in a Summer Disco as one of our school fundraisers for the year. The children enjoyed dancing to the music and playing games such as Musical Statues and The Limbo.
Some amazing efforts at The Limbo!
Science Week at St Annes
This week the children at St Anne’s were celebrating Science Week by finding out what we can do to look after the environment!
We started the day with an assembly led by a volunteer from Wandsworth Recycling Centre. This was followed by workshops for all classes.
Children took part in lots of different activities including designing their own superheros, making paper, using musical instruments made out of recycled materials and making their very own bookmarks!
We had a brilliant day learning about all the different ways we can help to look after the environment!
In our Science Week homework we were challenge to either create a model using recycled materials or to create a poster explaining what we can do to look after the environment. Some of the amazing models are now on display outside Maple Class!
As part of our topic ‘Amazing Animals’, Oaks and Acorns had a visit in school from The Mobile Farm. The Mobile Farm brought rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, ducks and ferrets!
Oak Class thought of some questions that they wanted to find out about the animals before the animals came:
Oaks and Acorns loved meeting the different animals and felt confident to stroke them gently.
This week the children in Oaks and Acorns have been busy writing letters to each other! They have been thinking of kind words to write in their letter and drawing some wonderful pictures for their friends.
Today we went on a local visit to the post-box, they each had a map which they followed carefully for directions to the post-box. We saw lots of familiar places on the way!
Everyone posted a letter to a friend in the class, Oaks and Acorns are now very excited to receive a letter in the post!
Here is a sneaky peak at some of the amazing letters!
As part of our topic ‘Wonderful Wandsworth’ we visited the local cafe ‘Cafe Fleur’. The children enjoyed making their orders and paying with their own money. The croissants went down very well!
Thank you for having us Cafe Fleur!
Last week Oaks and Acorns enjoyed celebrating Pancake Day! We shared the story of Mr Wolf’s Pancakes and attended a special whole school Collective Worship where we had a pancake flipping competition.
Later on in the day the children chose their own toppings for their pancakes and enjoyed eating them!
